As we close out 2014, we hope you saw our launch earlier this week of The Academy at BioNJ. Announced on December 17, The Academy will place a special emphasis on professional training and development to ensure that employers have access to exceptional programs and resources that will serve the New Jersey sciences talent pool well now and in the future. We are working with exceptional training partners and are excited to share this with you.
The New Jersey life sciences community is ending 2014 with a flourish. Ipsen Biopharmaceuticals, Inc., a BioNJ Member, received approval earlier this week from the FDA for its Somatuline Depot (lanreotide) Injection that treats gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors. Congratulations to Ipsen and we hope you will join us at the 2015 Annual Dinner Meeting, where we will celebrate the long list of New Jersey companies that received approvals in 2014.
In addition to all this good news, Rowan University College of Engineering received $15 million from the Henry M. Rowan Family Foundation. This is excellent news for both the Rowan family and the university’s members.
With that in mind, enjoy the last edition of The Weekender for 2014, and be sure to be on the lookout for the first issue back on January 9. In the meantime, Happy Holidays!
