The New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development (NJDLWD) launched two major initiatives to assist the State’s unemployed. New Jersey’s new job-matching website connects job seekers to employers throughout the State. This past summer, the NJDLWD kicked off the website’s access to employers to post jobs and search resumes for their hiring opportunities. The system also helps jobs seekers who don’t have a resume create one from scratch, and it helps those looking to transition their skills into a new industry.
Together with this online resource, NJDLWD has launched the Jersey Job Clubs. There are 24 local job clubs and six statewide industry-specific talent network job clubs — Life Sciences, Financial Services, Technology & Entrepreneurship, Health Care, Advanced Manufacturing, and Transportation, Logistics & Distribution. At each Jersey Job Club, job seekers can receive guidance from an on-site career development professional that will develop their personalized job strategy. One of the biggest features of the clubs is the networking. Professionals across all industries will be able to share advice and experiences that will identify job opportunities for those participating in the discussions.
