NJ Spotlight’s recent article entitled “Can Biotechnology Provide the Cure for What Ails New Jersey’s Economy?” stated, “New Jersey can rightfully call itself the undisputed global leader in biopharmaceuticals.” This week’s edition of the BioLines Weekender is a true testament to this statement — brimming with stories of innovation, partnerships and hope.
In honor of the role that the industry plays in New Jersey’s economy, Governor Chris Christie has proclaimed the week of April 10-16 as “Life Sciences Week” in New Jersey. Click here for the full schedule of events taking place throughout the week. Additionally, BioNJ is pleased to be working with the Independent College Fund of New Jersey to display Symposium research posters in the offices of Congressman Leonard Lance and 13 other local legislators in an effort to share the innovation, creativity and passion of students. Look for tweets featuring photos next week.
On Wednesday, April 13, at 3 p.m., New Jersey’s life sciences community is invited to observe a Moment of Hope. During this time, it is our hope that organizations across the State will come together for a moment to reflect upon the needs of Patients and their families and the key reasons why we all do what we do throughout the industry. At BioNJ, we will populate a Time Capsule of Hope which we will unveil during our Life Sciences Week Moment of Hope in 2017.
Exciting news from BioNJ Member Rutgers University… Rutgers University Board of Governors authorized the creation of Rutgers Health — an innovative, statewide academic health care provider organization that will revolutionize patient care in New Jersey. Additionally, Rutgers’ leadership in continuous manufacturing was highlighted in a recent OSTP report out of the White House.
