To Our New Jersey Life Sciences Community:
Welcome to another edition of the Weekender.
It has been another exciting week for New Jersey’s robust life sciences ecosystem…
Just today, the 2015 Business Facilities Rankings were released with New Jersey ranked #1 in Biotechnology Growth Potential. This comes on the heels of yesterday’s BioSpace story which touted New Jersey’s reputation as a strong biotechnology hub and leader for drug approvals. We couldn’t be more thrilled with the well-deserved press for New Jersey’s dynamic life sciences community!
As a testament to our ever-growing bio hub, Scynexis, Inc., a North Carolina drug development company, announced its relocation from Research Triangle Park to Jersey City to focus on the development of its SCY-078 antifungal drug.
Congratulations to BioNJ Member Merck, whose Ebola vaccine is giving new hope in the prevention of future outbreaks, and to BioNJ Member Sanofi, along with Regeneron, for receiving FDA approval for the first of a new class of cholesterol drugs expected to alter the landscape in cardiology.
And, we hope you’ll join us as we Take It OVER the Top at this year’s CEO Summit, featuring an exciting Fireside Chat with FDA Commissioner Dr. Stephen Ostroff and Dr. Bill Hait, Global Head, R&D at Janssen, J&J, on October 9. Click here for more information.
