Talent Network Update – September 2012

BioHUB Featuring Allergan Attracts Over 200 Industry Professionals

BRIDGEWATER — The New Jersey Life Sciences Talent Network team joined forces with Allergan to bring together over 200 industry professionals with hiring managers to explore open job opportunities on September 12.

Held at the Bridgewater Marriott, the evening event offered attendees the opportunity to peer into “a day in the life of an Allergan employee” through an inspirational video, which was followed by individual conversations with hiring managers.

Allergan, based in California, is expanding its offices in New Jersey and is scheduled to open a research facility in Bridgewater this month. Allergan hiring managers who talked with attendees are looking to fill more than 40 open positions within the next few months.

In addition to interacting with Allergan personnel, attendees networked with each other, continuing the theme of why BioHUB was created — to serve as a meet-up for life sciences industry professionals and to facilitate new connections with employers and headhunters.

“It’s vitally important to encourage creative ways for employers who are hiring to connect with local industry professionals. The market in New Jersey is rich with incredible talent, and companies like Allergan recognize this fact as a key reason for selecting a location here. The Talent Network is poised to promote job opportunities and assist our industry employers with finding the talent they require in order to grow their business. We have quickly become a valuable, niche resource with a complete focus on keeping the talent here in New Jersey,” said Vicki Gaddy, vice president of the BioNJ Life Sciences Talent Network.

The Talent Network will be holding additional BioHUB industry networking events over the coming months. If your company is interested in hosting such an event, please email Kristin Hassan.
