The New Jersey Economic Recovery Act of 2020: New Programs & Upgrades for the Life Sciences Industry

The New Jersey Economic Recovery Act of 2020 was signed into law by Governor Phil Murphy on January 7, 2021 and features a number of important new programs and upgrades to existing programs for the life sciences industry in New Jersey, including the Technology Business Tax Certificate Program (better known as the Net Operating Loss (NOL) Program), the Angel Investor Tax Credit Program, the Emerge Program and more. Ms. Coviello is one of the foremost experts on these programs and will share specifics about these important incentives as well as plans for their rollout and availability.

On the heels of the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, designed to combat the pandemic and provide aid to the tens of millions of Americans impacted by the economic effects of the coronavirus, President Biden recently unveiled initial details of the Build Back Better plan — a massive infrastructure package offset by significant corporate and international tax increase proposals. Ms. Grab will share the latest insights regarding the Build Back Better plan, including potential Congressional action and the possibility for additional tax legislation, to help you understand and prioritize how this could impact y our business now, next and beyond.
