Tax Reform: What do I Need to Know?
8:30 a.m.-9:30 a.m.

Tax Reform promised a pro-business simplification of the U.S. rules to provide a level playing field. After Tax Reform, the U.S. tax system indeed looks very different from the old system. During the first 100 days following the signing of the new law, the IRS has issued significant additional guidance – and we are expecting to get a lot more! Both multinational and domestic companies in the technology, media and life science industries are still digesting these new rules. They are coming to realize that despite the lower corporate tax rate, tax free repatriation, and promised simplification, some of the tax reform provisions are a bit more complex to navigate. New and complex tax principles can negatively impact their effective tax rate without proper and proactive planning.

Anke Kryeger, LLM
Managing Director
International Tax Services

Topics to be discussed include:

  • Where are we now after the first 100 days
  • What IRS guidance is pending for clarification
  • Major impacts now and in the future as a result of the new tax rules
  • What should multinational companies be doing now
  • How to identify key planning opportunities and practically planning for them
