Join us on Thursday, October 6, for an interactive program led by a panel of industry leaders as we discuss co-pay assistance and coupon programs. Such programs are a critical component of market access strategies, but care must be taken to ensure they are set up with appropriate consideration of legal risks.
In October 2014, the Office of Inspector General (OIG) of the Department of Health & Human Services surveyed companies about their coupon and co-pay programs. Nearly one year later, in September of 2015, the OIG shared its findings that there was an industry-wide lack of compliance.
Against this backdrop, we will consider company practices to minimize risks and recent OIG opinions that consider Anti-Kickback statute concerns. We will also discuss efforts of the National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP) Co-pay Assistance Task Group 9, which was formed in direct response to the OIG findings. Co-pay domain experts will describe the potential outcomes that industry stakeholders can anticipate from the NCPDP process.
Finally, and of most significance, the panelists will provide insights on programmatic steps available to all pharmaceutical manufacturers in seeking to optimize the effectiveness of their co-pay assistance programs while maintaining a satisfactory risk profile.
Target audience: General counsels, in-house attorneys, compliance officers and others responsible for investigations, management of litigation, compliance, sales and marketing.
Registration is open to Innovation Company Member Professionals, as well as Market Maker, Preferred, Executive and Institutional BioNJ Members. Future BioNJ Innovation Member fee is $50. Space is limited so click here to register today.
Upon arrival, please park in lots 6, 7 or 1, and proceed to the Creativity Center in Building D. Attendees must sign in at the registration desk, where a badge will be provided for you.
